Global law firm Ashurst announces the appointment of Anthony Lloyd as a partner in its Digital Economy practice in Sydney, as the firm strengthens its offering to the energytech, fintech, infratech, healthtech and Govtech sectors.
With more than 25 years' experience in the technology, digital and telecommunications sectors, Anthony has expertise in areas including digital transformation, digital infrastructure, digital regulation, data, cybersecurity, commercial contracts and outsourcing. He has advised on some of the largest outsourcing and technology projects in the Asia Pacific and across the globe.
Anthony also guides technology companies on licensing, commercialisation and trade sales and advises clients on technology and transformation aspects of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and divestitures.
Along with accolades from Chambers and Doyle's Guide, he has been listed for many years in Australia's Best Lawyers in categories of Outsourcing, IT, Telecommunications and Commercial Law.
Anthony joins from DLA Piper, where he was Global Co-Chair of the Technology Transactions and Strategic Sourcing Group, leading major technology, media and communications projects. He was previously a partner at MinterEllison for almost two decades. In that role, he established a regional technology and telecommunications practice in Hong Kong and led the firm's acquisition of tech consulting firm IT Newcom. He has also held roles as a Senior Attorney with IBM Global Services and a lecturer in Communications Law at the University of Technology, Sydney.
