Savour the Flavour Hawkesbury is back in 2024 with it biggest helping yet of fun and flavour! This year, we are excited to announce that Sydney cake queen Katherine Sabbath will be our guest MC, ramping up the colour and excitement to a whole new level.
Katherine Sabbath is one of the coolest creatives around, loved equally for her cutting-edge dessert designs and quirky personal style. Her unique designs have garnered her a following of more than half a million on Instagram (@katherine_sabbath) and have featured locally and internationally online, on television, in print and even in a collection of pyjamas, wines and couture tutus.
"My tastebuds can't wait to celebrate the Hawkesbury, with its delicious local food and produce!" Katherine Sabbath said.
"Not to mention dedicated farmers and small business owners. I'm very much looking forward to showcasing Sydney's original 'food bowl' with our greater community!"
Savour the Flavour is a colourful celebration of the Hawkesbury's food, local produce and beverages at Richmond Oval on Saturday 12 October 2024 from 4pm to 9pm.
Visitors and locals alike will have the chance to sample and purchase delicious food, produce and beverages from local farmers and businesses. We are also inviting primary producers that surround the Hawkesbury to get involved. There will also be cooking demonstrations, a fun family workshop hosted by Council's Arts and Culture Team, carnival rides and live entertainment to enjoy.
Last year's hotly-contested apple pie competition will also return. Do you have the steely resolve, the tastebuds and iron gut to take out this year's trophy? Test yourself, or just sit back and relax with friends and family and enjoy food and drinks prepared by our bumper line up of market stalls in the beautiful surrounds of Richmond Park.
Speaking of colour, we are inviting everyone to come dressed in pink in celebration of the event's official colour, and strut their stuff for their chance to win in our best-dressed competition. We are also inviting Richmond storeowners to get into the spirit by dressing up their shopfronts.
Getting to Richmond is easy. It's a 1.5 hour train ride from the Sydney CBD along the Western and Richmond lines. It's also close to the Richmond Road M7 turnoff, and a short drive from Penrith and the Blue Mountains. Parking is available at Hawkesbury Showground, Richmond Marketplace and around the town centre. Please keep your dogs safe and leave them at home - they will not be allowed entry to the event.
