Sydney's Largest Italian Fest Back in Five Dock

Ferragosto is returning to Great North Road for an Italian extravaganza with delicious street eats, spectacular performances, free carnival rides and 150 markets stalls set to bring the street to life.

You're invited to join over 100,000 revellers in the heart of Five Dock on Sunday, 18 August from 10am-5pm as the festival returns for its 27th year.

"Ferragosto is a celebration of Five Dock's heritage, vibrant local businesses, and the contributions that Italian migrants have brought to the area over the years," City of Canada Bay General Manager John Clark said.

"The event is a community favourite and this year we have really upped the ante. We welcome you to join us to celebrate, enjoy delicious food and experience the world-famous Italian hospitality."

For the foodies…

There will be a smorgasbord of sweet and savoury treats to choose from! The event's Presenting Partner, Mayers Fine Food, has created a special menu for Ferragosto including delicious panini, Sicilian sfinci donuts by Dom Panino, limited-edition Pistachio Papi and Baci Perugina gelato, as well as Italian classics: Barilla pasta, Illy espresso and refreshing San Pellegrino.

Make sure to stop by the Sandhurst Kitchen Stage, FerraCucina, to watch cooking demos and interviews with celebrity chefs Luca Ciano, Anna Simon and The Little Italian Cook, Jess Timpano. End the day with a refreshing glass of lager or wine at the Birra Moretti Beer Garden where you can sit back, listen to live music, and enjoy your drink with a woodfire pizza.

For the family…

Ferragosto has something for the whole family! There will be free carnival rides, a petting zoo, giveaways (including a free 7-night cruise courtesy of Major Partner Royal Caribbean!), spectacular dance and music performances, roving entertainment, and more.

Visitors can browse market stalls brimming with artisanal goods, stylish fashion and unique jewellery, before taking a break at the Italian Village where you can stop to rest, eat the snacks you've bought from food stalls and listen to live music. Meanwhile, the revheads out there won't want to miss the dazzling show of Italian engineering with a selection of Ferraris and Mini Fiats on display.
