Tasmania is open for business and the world knows it.
Just this week Tasmania was named the second-best place in the country to do business.
Deputy Premier and Treasurer, Guy Barnett, said this is a direct result of 10 years of relentless Government efforts to cut red tape and create a business-friendly environment.
"When you cut red tape and streamline processes, it enables businesses to grow and prosper," Treasurer Barnett said.
"In even more positive news, retail trade in Tasmania hit a record high in October of $725.4 million.
"This says that Tasmanians are confident, and we are backing business to the hilt to continue on this path."
Monthly retail trade has increased by almost 60 per cent since the Liberals came to Government in 2014.
"This is a win for everyday Tasmanians," Treasurer Barnett said.
"We know Tasmania is the best place to live, work and raise a family, with our population growing to a record high of more than 575,000.
"Our investments have delivered for Tasmanians, with the economy growing by $8.5 billion, 45,000 jobs have been created and the unemployment rate has almost halved since we came to Government."
Tasmania's economy has showed resilience in the face of significant global economic headwinds.
"We want businesses to have the confidence to grow, invest and create even more jobs, key parts of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future," Treasurer Barnett said.
"We will continue to back industry, back business and back jobs to get the best outcomes for Tasmania."
