Tasmania Police conducted a static traffic operation on the east coast of Tasmania at Swansea and Orford over the weekend.
Senior Sergeant Bill Grierson said that over the three-day period, 165 random alcohol and drug tests were conducted.
"Disappointingly, one woman was detected driving with an illegal drug in her system."
"A 53-year-old woman also recorded a breath alcohol reading of 0.056."
"She was arrested and detained for court for drink driving offences and for driving whilst disqualified."
"Other offences detected during the operation include six speeding infringements and two vehicle defect notices," said Senior Sergeant Grierson.
"Safety on our roads is a priority for Tasmania Police. We will continue to conduct high visibility operations that target the fatal five - speeding, fatigue, distraction, seatbelts, and alcohol and drugs."
