Tasmania has topped the nation in business confidence, according to the latest NAB Monthly Business Survey.
The NAB Survey also shows Tasmania is ranked second in business conditions, only just behind Queensland and a massive 11 index points ahead of the national average.
Treasurer, Guy Barnett, welcomed this news.
"Topping the chart for business confidence is a strong sign that we're on the right track," the Treasurer said.
"This is positive – we are gaining the momentum we need to kick goals.
"We have been standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our business community over recent months to understand what they need to grow and thrive.
"Just last week, The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry lauded the Premier's agenda as the most ambitious in decades.
"Whether its slashing red tape and removing burdensome, outdated legislation, to making Tasmania the start-up capital of Australia via our new Small Business Start-Up Permit or auditing business licences and permits to ensure they are fit-for-purpose - we are working tirelessly to improve outcomes for businesses and in turn for Tasmanians.
"Over the last two NAB reports we've moved from sixth to first for business confidence and significantly improved our business conditions on top of that.
"And why wouldn't our businesses be confident when we have just posted a record month of retail trade, and our State Final Demand is as high as it's ever been and growing faster than the rest of the country.
"This is a result of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, our dedicated business community and the hard work of everyday Tasmanians."
