The latest International Trade data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics today shows Tasmania has broken another record, with $504 million worth of exports in January 2025.
In the 12 months to January 2025, Tasmania's exports were valued at $4.64 billion, a 6.1 per cent increase on the year before, significantly outperforming the national average of a 6.9 per cent decrease over this period.
Treasurer, Guy Barnett, said Tasmania's exports are sought after across the world.
"Whether it's wine, beef, seafood, paper or minerals being freighted across the globe from our world-class growers and producers Tassie has what the world wants," the Treasurer said.
"These latest figures from the ABS back this in – to the tune of $504 million in January alone – a record month.
"This is $504 million flowing into the Tasmanian economy to the benefit of our businesses and everyday Tasmanians.
"Not only this, but that is also $4.64 billion over the last 12 months of Tasmanian produce and goods making its way to shelves, businesses and tables across the world, a significant increase over the prior 12 months and bucking the national trend over that period.
"We're backing business, we're backing jobs and we're backing the economy through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future and this data shows we're backing a winner."
