Tasmanians are continuing to pay the lowest electricity prices in the nation for households and small businesses.
Treasurer, Guy Barnett, said this was confirmed today at the Energy Matters Committee.
"Over the 2024-25 financial year, regulated energy prices increased by just 0.5 per cent," the Treasurer said.
"In addition to having the lowest prices in the nation, Tasmanians also have some of the most generous concessions in the country.
"Eligible Tasmanian concession-holders are being provided with up to $1,433 in bill relief this year, that includes the Governments supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend (RED) payments of $250 for households and $300 for small businesses."
Minister for Energy and Renewables, Nick Duigan, said this is having a positive impact for Tasmanians.
"At today's Energy Matters Committee, it was made clear that Tasmanians are moving away from energy debt at the fastest rate in the country," Minister Duigan said.
"This is positive, our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future is working, in stark contrast to Labor.
"Under Labor's plan to maximise GBE profits, they're looking to slug Tasmanians with a $13,647 year power bill.
"Make no mistake, under Labor RED would be dead and power prices would be sent soaring."
