Tasmania's 2025 Australia Day Honours

Premier Jeremy Rockliff congratulated the recipients of this year's Australia Day Honours.

"It is tremendous to see Tasmanians being honoured for their achievements across a range of fields, and for their impressive dedication to improving our State," Premier Rockliff said.

"From youth services and the environment to the arts, emergency services and health, everyday Tasmanians are contributing to our community through their dedication, advocacy and action.

"This is a proud moment for recipients and I'm sure their stories will inspire many Tasmanians."

Two Tasmanians have been appointed as Officers of the Order (AO).

The Hon Duncan Kerr AO SC and the Hon Nick Sherry AO for their distinguished service to the community and Parliament of Australia and Tasmania.

Two Tasmanians have been appointed a Member of the Order (AM) in recognition of their distinguished achievements.

Dr James Markos for significant service to medical education and research and Ms Margaret (Peg) Putt for significant service to conservation and the environment, and to the Parliament of Tasmania.

Twelve Tasmanians have been awarded a Medal of the Order (OAM) in appreciation of their contributions to their local communities.

Four Public Service Medals have been awarded to Tasmanian Government employees.

One Conspicuous Service Medal has been awarded to Tasmanian Warrant Officer Class One Craig Hodge, for meritorious achievement as Training Warrant Officer and Acting Regimental Sergeant Major of the 12th/40th Battalion, the Royal Tasmania Regiment.

Further meritorious awards have been awarded to 10 Tasmanians in recognition of their outstanding service in their field.
