Congratulations to Tasmania's own Ariarne Titmus for etching her name into the record books and claiming gold in the final of the 400 metres Freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics today.

This is such an incredible achievement for the Launceston born swimming sensation, and a testament to the years of hard work and dedication it has taken for Ariarne to get to this moment.

We are so delighted for Ariarne and her family that she has been able to not only live her Olympic dream but stand on the podium in Tokyo with the world watching on.

There is no greater achievement in sport than an Olympic medal, and we look forward to watching all the other Tasmanians competing throughout the Games and hope to see more of them bringing home more medals.
