Legana Primary School is now complete and ready to welcome students in Term 1, 2025.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said it's the first Tasmanian Government primary school to be built in more than a decade.
"Legana is one of Launceston's fastest growing areas, and this brand new school will support the community as it continues to grow," the Premier said.
"The facilities at Legana Primary School are state-of-of-the-art, featuring contemporary learning spaces, outdoor areas and an onsite community oral health clinic.
"Local firms Cumulus Studio and Vos Construction designed and built this fantastic new facility, supporting local Tasmanian jobs and helping to keep our economy strong.
"Our Government is building on our record investment in education infrastructure through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future."
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the development of the school has been shaped by the local community.
"Legana Primary School has been created by the community, for the community," Minister Palmer said.
"I want to acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved in this project, particularly those who participated in the community consultation process, including students and families.
"We are so pleased to be able to deliver this school for families who live in Legana or are choosing to move here.
"I look forward to working with our staff, students and families to create our school identity and sense of community."
The school will be able to accommodate 350 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
