Tasmanian teenagers will have the opportunity to manage their family's finances for a month following a casting call today for ABC iview series Teenage Boss: Next Level.
During the fourth season being filmed in Tasmania next year, teens tackle real-life obstacles and learn fiscal responsibility under the mentorship of host former Wiggles Star Emma Watkins.
Minister for the Arts and Heritage, Madeleine Ogilvie, said that the Tasmanian Liberal Government was proud to support the series with $100,000 in funding through the Production Support Program of Screen Tasmania.
"Boosting financial literacy is an important part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, and we are proud to support this clever way of providing teenagers with a glimpse of the realities of being an adult.
"This is Tassie's turn in the spotlight for the series, and I look forward to seeing the ideas of our teenagers to manage the family budget.
"More and more productions are coming to film in Tassie, and we are proud to partner with them through Screen Tasmania," Minister Ogilvie said.
Eligible to participate in the casting call are teenagers aged between 15 and 17 and who reside in Tasmania.
Applications close on Friday, 20 December 2024, and can be made on http://www.teenageboss.com.au/
