Tasmania's 2023–24 Taste of Summer festival program is set to impress foodies and music lovers alike, with a line up featuring the very best of our State's produce and musical talents.
Minister for Stadia and Events, Nic Street, said the Taste of Summer was a great opportunity to showcase Tasmania to the world.
"The Taste is truly the launch of the summer festival season, and our State is renowned for producing world-class food and beverages," Minister Street said.
"This year festival goers can look forward to 90 different food and beverage stalls, featuring the State's finest.
"With everything from the popular tempura mushrooms to the freshest seafood, cheese, wine and desserts, there is something on offer to appeal to everyone.
"Festival organisers have also been working with the Land and Sea Aboriginal Corporation of Tasmania and members of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community to feature wild-caught abalone on the menu.
"Visitors will be entertained with a stellar line up of local acts playing across the nine days, and crowd favourite Jon Stevens is set to light up the main stage on New Year's Eve.
"We welcome today's announcement that the Taste will be smoke and vape free, with St Luke's onboard to help keep patrons comfortable throughout the event.
"Through Events Tasmania, the Rockliff Liberal Government will be providing a total of $7.7 million over the next five years to keep the Taste running, and festival goers coming back for more."
