The Australian and Queensland Governments have activated further disaster assistance to support more councils affected by Tropical Cyclone Jasper and the associated rainfall and flooding events.
Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council can now access funding for counter disaster operations, while Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council can access funding for the reconstruction of essential public assets such as roads, bridges and floodways.
Carpentaria Shire Council can access funding for both counter disaster operations and for the reconstruction of essential public assets.
Assistance is being provided through the joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
