Team USA Conquers Rottnest Island Before 2025 Cup

The world's top tennis players have arrived in Western Australia for the 2025 United Cup, with Team USA welcomed to Perth's iconic island paradise, Rottnest Island, ahead of the tournament kick-off on Friday, 27 December.

The team, led by women's world number three, Coco Gauff, and men's world number four, Taylor Fritz, visited the island's beautiful beaches and posed with Rottnest's famous smiling quokkas.

Shared across social media with Fritz and Gauff's millions of followers, their visit showcased Rottnest Island to a significant global audience and built excitement for the upcoming event.

The United Cup group stage will take place at RAC Arena in Perth over six action-packed days, from Friday, 27 December through to New Year's Day. Fans can witness world-class tennis from teams representing Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Spain and the United States.

Team USA will begin their Perth matches on Sunday, 29 December, facing Team Canada.

To add to the atmosphere, a free multicultural festival will also take place outside RAC Arena throughout the event, serving up roving entertainers, cultural performances, face painting, DJs and food offerings from around the world in celebration of the participating countries.

Co-hosted by Perth and Sydney, the United Cup features 18 countries with up to three men and three women competing in a round-robin format. Players will vie for a share of AUD$15 million in prize money and up to 500 PIF Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking points.

"With high-ranked players like Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff taking the court at RAC Arena, the stage is set for an electrifying tournament that will captivate fans and showcase Perth to the world."

"Our recent investments in state-of-the-art sporting infrastructure have positioned us to host global events like the United Cup, and it's fantastic to see those efforts pay off with this prestigious event returning to WA for its third year."
