Police have charged a teen as investigations continue into an alleged robbery in the state’s Hunter region earlier this week., NSW Police say
About 8.10pm on Monday (25 April 2016), an 18-year-old man completed a pizza delivery in Yango Street, Cessnock, and was returning to his scooter when he was approached by three men who’d left a nearby licensed premise.
One of the men allegedly approached the man and threatened to stab him with a glass, while demanding money.
It’s further alleged he pushed the man and took cash from his bag before the trio fled the area.
The man returned to his workplace, where he reported the incident to his manager who then contacted police.
The man was not injured during the incident.
About 8.30pm yesterday, a 16-year-old youth was arrested in Abermain and charged with robbery in company.
He was given conditional bail to appear at children’s court on Tuesday 24 May 2016.
Investigations into the matter are continuing into the identity of the other people involved; police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
