A teen will face court today charged following an investigation into an alleged break and enter at Lake Macquarie and a subsequent pursuit.
Early yesterday (Wednesday 27 March 2024), a Porsche Cayenne and Audi A5 were allegedly stolen from a home in Valentine.
About 2.20am today (Thursday 28 March 2024), police from Newcastle City Police District were patrolling Minmi Road, Fletcher, when they located both vehicles.
When the vehicles allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The Porsche evaded police and officers pursued the Audi to Heatherbrae where it lost control and came to a stop near the Pacific Highway and Masonite Road intersection.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested at the scene before being taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station.
There he was charged with steal motor vehicle, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence - in company - steal, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, and police pursuit - not stop - drive at speed.
He was refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Thursday 28 March 2024).
Inquiries are ongoing to locate the other vehicle and person/s involved.
