A teen will face court today after allegedly assaulting police in the state's Central West yesterday.
About 1.50pm (Wednesday 7 August 2024), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended a home in Coonamble, to speak with a teen.
Upon arrival, police entered the home and arrested a 17-year-old boy. It will be alleged the teen resisted arrest while making threats before he spat at an officer and hit another in the face.
He was taken to Coonamble Police Station and charged with;
- Intimidate police officer in execution of duty (two counts)
- Assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm (three counts)
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and
- Breach of bail.
The teen was refused bail to appear at a children's court today Thursday (8 August 2024).
