A teen will face court today charged over an alleged domestic violence-related assault in the state's north-west.
About 8.50am yesterday (Tuesday 10 September 2024), officers from Central North Police District were called to a home in Wilson Street, Bourke, following reports of a concern for welfare.
Police have been told a man and boy who are known to each other – aged 40 and 17 – were allegedly involved in fight, with the man sustaining a laceration to his face. He was taken to Bourke Hospital for treatment, and has since been released.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with common assault (DV), and reckless wounding (DV).
The teen was refused bail and will appear at a children's court today (Wednesday 11 September 2024).
