A teenager has been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident earlier this week in the state's north west.
On Wednesday (16 October 2024), officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation following reports a 14-year-old boy was in possession of a firearm following an alleged domestic violence incident.
Following inquiries, about 3.20pm yesterday (Friday 18 October 2024), the 14-year-old boy was arrested in Wee Waa and taken to Narrabri Police Station.
He was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), two counts of destroy or damage property (DV), stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), common assault (DV) and armed with intent commit indictable offence.
He was granted conditional bail to face a Children's Court on Thursday 31 October 2024.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at a home in Wee Waa, with police locating and seizing a number of items, including a knife and a motorbike.
Inquiries are ongoing.
