Teen Charged in Melbourne NW Burglaries, Thefts

Westgate Alliance Taskforce officers and Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenager following multiple alleged aggravated burglaries and theft of motor vehicles in Melbourne's north west.

Police will allege the 17-year-old boy gained access to multiple properties and vehicles in Werribee, South Morang, Preston, Box Hill, Epping, Tarneit and Point Cook between Thursday, 31 October and Tuesday, 26 November.

The teen has been charged with 57 offences, including:

• (8) x aggravated burglary

• (2) x attempted aggravated burglary

• (7) x burglary

• (16) x theft of motor vehicle

• (5) x theft

• trespass

• (3) x learner drive unaccompanied

• (6) x obtain property by deception

• (3) x handle stolen goods

• criminal damage

• dangerous driving whilst pursued.

He was remanded to appear before a children's court at a later date.
