A teenager has been charged after he allegedly stabbed a man during a brawl in Sydney CBD on the weekend.
About 12.30am on Sunday (8 September 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a brawl at Circular Quay where a 20-year-old was stabbed in the chest with a broken glass bottle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
The teen and man are not believed to be known to each another.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 15-year-old boy yesterday (Tuesday 10 September 2024).
He was taken to a police station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm.
The teenager was refused bail to appear at a children's court on Wednesday 11 September 2024.
Police will allege in court the teenager stabbed the man in the chest with a broken bottle.
