A teenager has been charged over the alleged break and enter of six homes and one business where five luxury cars and three motorbikes were stolen.
Detectives attached to Strike Force Sweetenham were called to a home on Wayfield Way, Glenhaven where a Mercedes GLC and a Dodge Ram were allegedly stolen about 4.30am on Monday 10 June 2024.
Police then attended Volmer Street, Oatlands following reports the Dodge Ram was in the vicinity at the time a home was allegedly broken into while a woman was inside about 5.30am the same day.
Police were told eight pairs of luxury shoes, worth about $14,400, were allegedly stolen.
Police commenced an investigation into the break-ins.
The Dodge Ram was allegedly seen following a break in and theft of three motorbikes from a store in Caringbah about 12.30am on Tuesday 11 June 2024.
Investigations continued after an alleged break in of a home on Milson Road, Cremorne Point where a BMW X6 was allegedly stolen on Monday 17 June 2024.
The same car was allegedly involved in a police pursuit at Acacia Gardens about 12.10am on Tuesday 18 June 2024.
The BMW X6 was then allegedly used in a break in of a home on Kenthurst Road, Kenthurst about 1am the same day.
The car was allegedly used again during the break and enter of a home on Stuart Street Longueville about 2.20am where a Mercedes was stolen. The Mercedes was recovered at a Blackett carpark the same day.
Police were called to investigate the break in of a home on Lismore Street, Hoxton Park today (Friday 21 June 2024) where a Land Rover was stolen before it was recovered in Oakhurst about 7.40am.
About 9.40am today (Friday 21 June 2024), police arrested a 17-year-old boy at a home in Rooty Hill.
He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with 22 sequences:
- Seven counts of aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence
- Enter inclosed land no prescribed premises without lawful excuse
- Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence
- Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner
- Three counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company intend steal
- Larceny
- Steal motor vehicle
- Two counts of be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
- Three counts of drive conveyance without consent of owner
- Never licensed person drive vehicle on road – prior offence
- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
The boy was refused bail to appear at a children's court tomorrow (Saturday 22 June 2024).
Police will allege in court the teen was involved in all of the break ins, thefts and pursuit.
