A teenager has been charged after three cars were allegedly stolen in the state's north-west this week.
Just after 3am on Monday (10 June 2024), three Toyota Hilux's were stolen from a business on Dooral Street, Brewarrina.
Officers attached to Central North Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
About 9.30am (10 June 2024), one of the vehicles – which had been destroyed by fire – was located on a riverbank off the Kamilaroi Highway, Brewarrina.
Following inquiries, about 4pm on Tuesday (11 June 2024), a 15-year-old boy attended Brewarrina Police Station.
A second Hilux was later located about 9.10pm the same day in bushland off Charlton Road, Brewarrina.
The teen was arrested and charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence-in company-steal>60,000.
He was given conditional bail and will appear at a Children's Court on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
