A teenage boy will face court today charged following an investigation into multiple alleged break and enters on the states Mid North Coast.
In February 2025, officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District under Strike Force Contrition commenced investigations following reports of multiple break an enters in the area.
About 4.30am on Friday 7 February 2025, police were notified of a break and enter at a home in South Kempsey.
Police were told the occupants of the home were allegedly threatened by a group of unknown people before their vehicle was allegedly stolen.
On Tuesday 11 February 2025, a group of unknown people, armed with knives allegedly forced entry into a business in Woolgoolga, threatening a woman, before assaulting her and leaving with cash.
The woman sustained serious injuries to the face and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Between Tuesday 11 February and Wednesday 12 February 2025, police will allege four vehicles were stolen from several homes in Woolgoolga, Coffs Harbour and Urunga.
Following extensive investigations, about 1pm yesterday (Wednesday 5 March 2025), police attended Granite Street, Port Macquarie and arrested a 16-year-old boy.
He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with 10 offences
- Five counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company intend steal less than or equal to $60K
- Three counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than or equal to $60000
- Robbery in company cause wounding/grievous bodily harm
- Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
He was also charged with an outstanding warrant for personal violence and traffic related offences.
He was refused bail to appear before a Childrens Court today (Thursday 6 March 2025).
Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at the home on Granite Street, where police allegedly located and seized a machete, tomahawk style knife and clothing allegedly linked to the offences.
