Police have arrested and charged a teenager as part of an ongoing investigation into a string of break and enters across the state's central west region..
Operation Southbreak was established by Oxley Police District to investigate break-ins and vehicle thefts in the Tamworth region.
About 3.15pm yesterday (Thursday 12 March 2020), police stopped a vehicle on the New England Highway at Bendemeer.
A passenger in the vehicle was identified by officers to be a 15-year-old boy with six outstanding arrest warrants and a revocation of parole warrant.
The teen was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station where the warrants were executed for the offences of aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (x7), enter building with intent to commit indictable offence (x3), larceny (x2), aggravated break and enter in company, aggravated break and enter with intent to commit indictable offence, enter inclosed land without lawful excuse, and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.
Police will allege in court that the teen was involved in a string of break-ins across Tamworth in February.
He was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Friday 13 March 2020).
Investigations under Operation Southbreak continue.
