Teen In Hospital After Pursuit - Whalan

A teenager has been taken to hospital in a stable condition following a police pursuit and crash in Sydney's west this morning.

About 12.50am (Friday 13 December 2024) police observed a vehicle driving dangerously on Luxford Road, Whalan.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle and when it did not stop, a pursuit was initiated.

A short time later, the vehicle crashed into two unoccupied parked cars and a tree on the same road.

The driver and only occupant – a 14-year-old boy – was trapped for some time.

He was freed and treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Children's Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
