Detectives from the Homicide Squad have this morning arrested an 18-year-old man as part of their investigation into the death of a teenage boy who was allegedly deliberately struck by a car in Taylors Lakes in November 2023.
The 18-year-old was arrested at his Sydenham home about 6am.
He will now be interviewed by investigators.
This morning's activity follows an incident where a group of teens were crossing Chichester Drive when it's alleged they were deliberately struck by a vehicle about 6.55pm on Monday, 6 November.
Three youths were struck by the previously stolen vehicle, which then fled the scene.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 16-year-old Keilor Downs boy died at the scene.
Two other boys, a 16-year-old from Melton and 15-year-old from Keilor Downs, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police allege the incident was targeted and that the parties involved were known to each other.
The investigation remains ongoing.
