Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a teenager in Mordialloc this afternoon.
Emergency services responded to reports a teenager was missing in the water just off Beach Road about 4pm.
A search of the area was conducted with the assistance of Life Saving Victoria helicopters and Police Air Wing as well as ground patrols.
The 17-year-old male from Pakenham was located unresponsive and was pulled from the water a short time later.
CPR was commenced but sadly he has died at the scene.
