A teenager has died in hospital after three cars collided in Pine Lodge on Friday.
It is alleged a Toyota Camry, a Toyota Orien and a Mazda wagon collided at the intersection of New Dookie and Boundary Road about 6.20pm.
The driver of the Camry, a 30-year-old Kialla man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Two of his passengers, a 17-year-old Lemnos girl and a 32-year-old Lemnos man were taken to hospital in a critical condition.
His third passenger, an 18-year-old Tarneit woman was not injured.
Sadly, the 17-year-old Lemnos girl later died of her injuries in hospital.
The driver of the Mazda Wagon, a 68-year-old Cosgrove woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Her passenger, a 15-year-old Dookie boy, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Toyota Orien, a 66-year-old Dookie man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are assessing the circumstances surrounding the collision and investigations remain ongoing.
