Teenager Injured After Affray In Rowville

A teenager has been seriously injured overnight following an affray outside a shopping centre in Rowville.

Police have been told the victim was sitting at a bus stop along Stud Road when he was approached by two people, on Thursday 15 August, about 9.30pm.

The pair, who were armed with what appeared to be a baton and knife, assaulted the victim.

A bus driver who was stopped nearby intervened to help the boy and held his fire extinguisher towards the offenders before they ran from the scene.

The 19-year-old Rowville boy, who was not cooperative with police, has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The offenders were last seen driving from the scene in a silver BMW.

Knox Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
