Teens Arrested After Central Coast to Sydney Chase

Three teenagers have been arrested following an alleged pursuit of a stolen vehicle from the Central Coast and across Sydney's north-west.

Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command responded to reports of a vehicle driving at excessive speed about 8am today (Wednesday 16 April 2025), along the M1 Motorway at Tuggerah.

A short time later, police located the vehicle travelling southbound.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop when directed, a pursuit was initiated. Due to safety reasons the pursuit was terminated near Berowra.

Police later located the vehicle stopped in traffic on Pennant Hills Road, Thornleigh. Attempts were made to arrest the occupants; however, the vehicle drove from the location hitting into a number of other vehicles at the scene, and later in Pennant Hills and Carlingford.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Gollan Avenue, Oatlands, at 8.40am.

A perimeter was established and – with the assistance of members of the public and the Dog Squad – three boys, two aged 15 and one aged 16, were arrested in a shed on Charles Street, Oatlands.

They were taken to Parramatta Police Station where inquiries are continuing.

The vehicle – which was reported stolen during a break and enter from a home in Carlingford about 6.15am today – has been seized for further examination.

There are no reports of injuries.
