Teens Arrested After Shooting, Car Fire, Pursuit

Two teenage boys have been arrested following a public place shooting, car fire and pursuit in Western Sydney overnight.

Just after 2am (Thursday 12 December 2024), Officer attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command were patrolling the Rooty Hill area when they attempted to stop a vehicle on Willis Street

When the vehicle failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a parked car on Willis Street.

The driver and passenger, two 17-year-old boys, were uninjured and arrested on scene.

The two boys were taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries.

About 2.10am, emergency services were called to Football Drive, at Bungarribee, after reports of a car fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced into the incident.

About 2.20am, police were called to a shopping centre on North Parade, Mt Druitt, following reports of a public place shooting.

On arrival, officers located several bullet holes in the window of a business inside the shopping centre.

A crime scene has been established which will be forensically examined by specialist police.

The investigation is ongoing.

Following initial inquiries, police believe all three incidents are linked.
