Teens Arrested in Bathurst Property Crimes Investigation

Two teens have been arrested following an investigation into multiple reports of thefts from cars in the state's Central Tablelands last month.

On Sunday 25 August 2024, officers attached to Chifley Police District commenced an investigation following multiple reports of thefts from motor vehicle in the Windradyne area.

Following investigations, about 11.50pm on Sunday 25 August 2024, a 15-year-old boy was arrested in Windradyne, and taken to Bathurst Police Station.

Following further inquiries, about 11am on Sunday (1 September 2024), police attended a home in Bathurst, and arrested a 16-year-old boy and he was taken to Bathurst Police Station.

The 15-year-old boy will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act for larceny, goods in custody suspected being stolen, two counts of enter vehicle or boat without consent of owner, and break and enter dwelling-house with intent.

The 16-year-old boy will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act for three counts of enter vehicle or boat without consent of owner, and break and enter dwelling-house with intent.

Inquiries are continuing.
