Two teens have been charged following an alleged break and enter in the state's Orana region,
On Sunday 19 April 2026, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were called to a home on Shoreview Lane, Dubbo, following reports of a break and enter, and vehicle theft.
On arrival, police were told between 7pm Saturday 18 April 2026 and 6.30am Sunday 19 April 2026, unknown individuals had allegedly forced entry into the home before stealing a Volkswagon SUV from the address.
Police commenced an investigation into the incident.
Shortly after 2.30am yesterday (Friday 24 April 2026), police were called to a service station on the corner of Whylandra Street and Victoria Street, Dubbo, following reports a driver had allegedly stolen fuel before leaving the scene.
Initial inquiries indicated that the car that was seen leaving the service station with the stolen fuel was the same vehicle stolen from the Dubbo property.
Following extensive inquiries, police attended a home on Macquarie Street, Dubbo about 9.40pm, and arrested a 15-year-old boy.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with:
- Aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60000
- Steal motor vehicle
- Two counts be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
- Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence
- Dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception
He was refused bail to before a Children's Court Bail Division today (Saturday 25 April 2026).
Following further inquiries, about 12:15am today (Saturday 25 April 2026), police attended a home on Manildra Street, Narromine and arrested a 13-year-old boy.
He was taken to Narromine Police Station and charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner.
The boy was granted conditional bail to appear at a Children's Court on Monday 1 June 2026.
