Hilltops Council
Council has made some changes to the operation of the Koorawatha Landfill. The change has come about because we are reassessing our processes for opening new landfill cells. The changes are temporary only.
From 14 July 2021, waste at Koorawatha will be disposed of into skips provided at the site rather than into landfill cells. Residents are asked to deposit waste into the waste skips provided, and recycling into the recycling skips provided. The system is similar to what is provided to our residents at Murringo and Monteagle. The skips provided will be cleared weekly.
We ask residents to not place waste or recycling onto the ground, but into the skips themselves. The service is for domestic waste and recycling only.
