Cairns Regional Council advises of forthcoming changes to road conditions at Lily St, Cairns North, to allow for construction of a new sewage pump station.
A lane on Lily St will be partially closed for approximately six months from Monday 14 June.
This will involve:
- Closure of the eastbound lane of Lily St (towards the Esplanade), meaning no left or right turn into Lily St from Sheridan St.
- Closure of the footpath on the northern side of Lily St, between Sheridan and Lake streets (pedestrian detours will be in place).
- Motorists still being able to turn left or right into Sheridan St from Lily St, or to continue straight.
- Traffic detours via Rutherford and Lake streets, and Smith and Digger streets.
This is an important stage of the construction works to upgrade the sewage pumping station located at the corner of Sheridan and Lily Streets.
Council appreciates your patience and cooperation during this time.
