Lithgow City Council are advising motorists of a temporary change to traffic conditions in the Barton Street / George Coates Avenue, Lithgow due to the implementation of a drive through COVID19 testing clinic within the confines of Tony Luchetti Sportsground, Lithgow.
Mayor Ray Thompson advised "In order for authorities to safely direct and control the expected increase in vehicles attending a COVID19 drive through testing clinic within the confines of the Tony Luchetti Sportsground, some changed traffic conditions are needed to be implemented in George Coates Avenue and Barton Street."
"No changes to traffic flow or directions are expected at this stage, but traffic controllers will be on site monitoring and assisting motorists to get through the testing site as quickly and safely as possible. It is expected that these changed traffic conditions will be in effect from 7.00am until 6.00pm daily (including weekends), from Wednesday, 25th August 2021 until the program concludes, up to two (2) weeks."
Residents and motorists will still be able to access businesses and properties in the area, but are asked to keep these changes in mind when travelling within the area, and allow additional travel time if necessary.
