Lake Macquarie City Council
The Awaba Community Recycling Centre will be temporarily closed from Wednesday 19 February due to a fire at a processing facility in Sydney.
The following items will still be accepted during the closure.
- Comingled recyclables
- Cardboard
- Polystyrene (EPS)
- E-Waste
- Car Batteries
- Soft plastics
Lake Mac Libraries will not accept recycling items during this temporary closure.
General waste disposal will still be available at the Awaba Waste Management Facility.
The planned upcoming Chemical CleanOut at Rathmines Boat Ramp has also been cancelled.
