Please be advised that the southern arm of the Urunga Boardwalk is temporarily closed due to damage sustained during last weekends king tides and large swell conditions.
During this severe weather event, approximately 50 metres of decking on the southern arm of the boardwalk has broken free of the anchoring brackets which connect the boardwalk to its piers.
Council crews are currently dismantling affected sections of the boardwalk to assess the extent of damage and it is anticipated that these works will continue throughout the week.
Finally, Council thanks you in advance for your patience during the delivery of these works and further updates will be provided as inspection and repair activities progress.
