TPG has commenced the rollout of the Ten Gigabit Adelaide network to North Adelaide, ensuring that local businesses will have access to the world-leading high-speed, high-performance fibre optic data network.
Ten Gigabit Adelaide is being connected to commercial buildings across the City of Adelaide to enable businesses and organisations to access a range of cloud-based services and phenomenal 10Gbps data speeds.
With 700 buildings now connected in the CBD, North Adelaide is the next area to benefit from secure and uncontested broadband services. This will complete the goal of 1000 buildings being connected to the Ten Gigabit Adelaide network - rolled out by TPG, City of Adelaide's official network partner. The rollout is due for completion by mid 2020. Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor said that the rollout of Ten Gigabit Adelaide has been going exceptionally well and looked forward to North Adelaide being connected.
"Just as it has been in the city, Ten Gigabit Adelaide will be transformative for businesses in North Adelaide that require a speedy, high-performing data network," said the Lord Mayor.
"Council wants to see sectors such as the medical profession and allied health, education and professional services benefitting from the rollout in North Adelaide.
"We are committed to supporting business growth and this critical infrastructure is a game changer for Adelaide."
Ten Gigabit Adelaide has already been connected to Memorial Drive and Adelaide Oval in North Adelaide, which has been a hive of sporting activity this summer.
Aaron Reynolds, Director of Operations at Memorial Drive-based Pernix - an end-to-end data solutions business that employs 27 people in South Australia - was already seeing fantastic results for their business and clients.
"Pernix is using the high-speed connectivity to deliver data solutions and platform services to our clients now more efficiently than ever," said Mr Reynolds.
"From our location at the newly redeveloped Tennis Stadium, Ten Gigabit Adelaide for our business has removed the performance barriers and provided us with direct access to Data Centres and Public Cloud from where we deliver our Indigenous Art Trust Blockchain Platform, High-Performance Sports Analytics Platform and our Exercise Medicine Digital Services globally".
