Residents of Tenterfield Shire will now get to enjoy safe drinking water, with construction of the Tenterfield Water Treatment Plant officially complete.
This first-class treatment plant has replaced the 90-year-old former plant, and will hold 2.5 mega litres per day.
The new plant provides infrastructure that will benefit the community for decades to come, by being able to service community events, support tourism activities and agriculture.
The Australian Government contributed $2.65 million to the $9.65 million project, with the New South Wales Government providing the remaining $7 million.
