Thank You To Our Early Childhood Educators

Tasmanian Government

Today is Early Childhood Educators' Day, a chance to celebrate the important contribution of early childhood educators in the lives of young children, their families and local communities.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the Tasmanian Liberal Government values quality early learning, which gives children the best head start in life.

"From planning and delivering engaging education programs for our youngest learners, through to making sure their social and emotional development is nurtured, early childhood educators wear numerous hats," Minister Palmer said.

"On this day, and every day, we want to extend our acknowledgment and appreciation for all that our early childhood educators do to make such a positive difference in the lives of children.

"The Government knows that education, especially in the first 1000 days, is vital to future success.

"Under our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we've committed $5 million to grow and upskill the early years workforce, ensuring that children and families have access to quality education."

This investment will see the establishment of an Early Years Workforce Development Fund which includes 200 scholarships for an education and care qualification, and relocation and retention incentives for early childhood education and care staff in remote areas.

Early Childhood Educators' Day is an initiative of the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA).
