A man from Taylors Beach, New South Wales, is still coming to terms with a life-changing win of more than $890,000 in the recent Saturday Lotto draw. The lucky winner held one of six division one winning entries nationwide in draw 4517, held on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Each winner received an impressive $894,879.56.
The fortunate man took three days to realise he’d won. Had he registered his ticket to a player card or online account, he could have discovered his good news sooner. Lotto officials eagerly waited for the mystery winner to check their ticket and come forward.
Upon learning of his win, he expressed his disbelief and excitement.
“It’s a dream come true!” he said.
“I can’t explain how it feels, it’s seriously like I’m still living in a dream.”
The man revealed his plans for the prize, starting with a home purchase.
“We’re very grateful; we buy one or two tickets each week, but this one came through! We’re definitely going to buy our first home. That’s the plan! Wow, I never thought I’d be able to say that,” he added.
“It’s going to help me and my family so much. You have no idea!”
To celebrate, he and his wife planned to enjoy a special meal and some wine.
The winning ticket was purchased at newsXpress Salamander Bay, where team member Rachel Cordingley shared in the joy of the win.
“It’s so exciting! I may be just as excited as the winner!” she laughed. “I sold the ticket, which made me even more jubilant. It was to a local gentleman who shops here all the time. The team and I couldn’t be happier for him.”
The store has seen division one luck before, selling a previous winning entry in July’s Saturday Lotto draw.
“Hopefully, our winning streak continues,” Ms. Cordingley added. “Congratulations to our lucky local, and we wish you all the best with your prize.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4517 were 18, 6, 42, 10, 1, and 3, with supplementary numbers 5 and 40.
Across Australia, the draw produced six division one winners: two in New South Wales, two in Western Australia, one in Queensland, and one in Victoria.
