Theft from Strathewen school

Hurstbridge police are appealing for information from the public following the theft of a trailer from a Strathewen school earlier this week.

Investigators believe unknown offenders gained entry to the grounds by cutting a lock at the School Ridge Road school sometime between 5.30pm on Sunday 11 October and 8.15 the following morning.

The offenders took a custom-built tandem box trailer that contained 20 bicycles.

Investigators have released an image of the trailer in the hope that someone may have seen it or be able to provide information on its current whereabouts.

The trailer was gifted to the school after the school was completely destroyed following the Black Saturday bushfires in 2009.

The 20 bicycles were also donated to the school.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
