Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the theft of an excavator, worth more than $130,000, from a Balliang address.
Investigators have been told unknown offender/s have attended the address in Primes Court sometime between 23 December and 4 January.
A Hitachi excavator, model ZX200LC3, was stolen from the rear yard of the address.
Investigators believe the unknown offender/s would have required a truck to transport the excavator away from the scene.
An image of the excavator has been released in the hope someone recognises it or can provide information on its current whereabouts.
