Things Are Pitch Perfect At William Street Reserve

We've completed the William Street Reserve renewal in time for the summer sports season.

The much-needed upgrade has greatly improved the sportsground's surface integrity. We've updated the drainage and irrigation, reshaped and levelled the ground, and laid sun and heat resistant natural turf.

The new synthetic pitch is ready for cricket season, and upgraded goal posts are ready for the reserve's winter sports. The renewed perimeter fencing is compliant with Australian standards and retains a similar look to the former white timber boundary fence.

The upgrade is part of our commitment to improve the quality and sustainability of Bayside's sports and recreation infrastructure to help to meet the increasing need for community sport and recreation facilities.

The secure dog-off leash area will remain in the reserve. This gives dog owners the choice between the renewed sportsground (with an open perimeter fence) when not being used by community sport, or the securely fenced exercise area. Fencing and surface improvements are scheduled to commence Monday, 9 December, for up to one week, weather permitting. The secure dog off-leash area will be closed during these minor works.
