Nominations open soon to become a candidate in this year's Mornington Peninsula Local Government General Election.

Are you considering throwing your hat into the ring? Do you know someone who is looking to stand up and use their voice?

Nominations will be open from Monday 9 September, and close at 12 noon Tuesday 17 September.

Over the next month, candidate information sessions are being held to support you. These sessions will cover topics spanning from:

  • The role of Local Government
  • What you can expect if elected
  • How local Councils work
  • Councillor responsibilities
  • Important issues to consider
  • Experiences of female Councillors
  • Eligibility.

  • Life as a Woman Councillor, Tuesday 27 August, 6:30-8:30pm
  • Becoming a Councillor, Saturday 31 August, 10:30am-12:30pm

Upcoming Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) candidate sessions

  • 6.30pm, Wednesday 4 September

    Rosebud Office, 90 Besgrove Street Rosebud

  • 6.30pm, Thursday 5 September
