A man will front court today charged, following a shooting in the State's Riverina last month.
Emergency services responded to reports that a man had been shot at a home on Carrathool Street, Griffith about 11.15pm on (Saturday 16 March 2024).
Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were told that three men forced entry into the premises, before the man was allegedly shot in the left leg.
The 44-year-old male presented to Griffith Base Hospital with leg injuries, before being transferred to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, about 11.45am, on (Friday 29 March 2024), investigators attached to Blacktown Police Area Command, attended a home in Clyde Street, Guildford.
The 37-year-old man was arrested and conveyed to Granville Police Station.
He was charged with discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, attempt to discharge firearm etc with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and special aggravated break and enter & commit serious indict offence-inflict grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court today (Tuesday 2 April 2024).
Two men, both aged 31, have also been charged, and are before the courts.
