A third man has been arrested following the alleged assault of two off-duty police officers in Sydney's Inner West.
Just after 11pm on Wednesday 22 January 2025, emergency services were called to Enmore Road, Newtown, following reports of a brawl.
Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command attended and found a 25-year-old man unconscious on the roadway.
An off-duty nurse performed CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics before the man was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in a serious but stable condition. He has since been released.
Police have been told the injured man and a second man, both off-duty NSW Police Force officers, were walking along Enmore Road when they approached three men who were having an argument with each other.
The two off-duty officers were allegedly assaulted with one of them knocked to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked to the head.
The three men left the scene prior to police arrival.
The second man, also aged 25, suffered facial injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment; however, has since been released.
A crime scene was established, and Inner West Police Area Command detectives commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Rabnor.
Following inquiries, two men - aged 18 and 20 – have been charged and remain before the court.
About 3.30pm today (Tuesday 28 January 2025), police arrested a 22-year-old man on Edgeware Road, Enmore.
The man has been taken to Newtown Police Station where inquiries continue.
